The rooms are lovely and new .The gardens are beautiful.
The bar was not well staffed in the evening. We arrived back at the hotel just before 11pm. One bar was closed the other had no bar staff visible ,we had to ask at reception. The lodges are one block with no outdoor seating in the verandahs. Only mentioning this incase someone thinks they are self contained.
The welcome we received was lovely. Staff could not have been more helpful, the food was excellent and the grounds were lovely. Sat and watched the wedding photographs being taken although not guests it was lovely to watch. If I was asked to recommend this hotel I would have no hesitation. The management should be very proud of their staff, especially the restaurant manager who was very helpful.
There was not one thing I could say against this hotel.
The staff were all local, helpful and cheerful. The food was well prepared and served hot. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Troon.
Having a wonderful time catching up with friends and having a lovely meal at Scott's Restaurant at the Marina. Visiting Culzean Castle and generally having a lovely time.
Only little thing was the fact there was not many seats at the Cocktail Bar for patrons.
The position of the lodge rooms and decor. The main hotel also was very well maintained and decorated tastefully throughout the public areas. A very attractive hotel with superb location for Royal Troon Golf course.
Nothing on this visit.
General ambiance and excellent location opposite Royal Troon gc . Lodge room spacious and comfortable. Food good. Staff friendly and helpful without being obtrusive.
On arrival, the receptionist having dealt with a preceding guest, arose and departed for several minutes without proffering any greeting or comment whatsoever. Supply of croissants was not replenished at breakfast, an omission that detracted and should not arise at a hotel of this standard.
We stayed here because of the hotel's proximity to the ferry. It was a very good choice, particularly as the weather on arrival was very wet and stormy. Instead of going out, we dined in and had an excellent meal with bottle of wine which was reasonably priced and very good quality. The breakfast was also very good. A comfortable and warm room made this a nice place to stay.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The food was very good. (AlthoughI think that as hotel guests we should have been put in the dining room not the bar to eat - only a small problem). The hotel is very nice (but beware - if you have any mobility problems, do not book a room in the hotel itself. Book one of the outside rooms. No lifts and the room we had was up two flights of steep stairs). Hotel is also adjacent to golf courses including Royal Troon. Very pleasant hotel.
Ionly have one complaint. We booked this hotel because we were going back to Ireland from Troon and we stayed the night to split the journey up, as I had a long drive from Larne. But there was a wedding party in the hotel and, as expected, it was very noisy (I had specifically asked for a quiet room). Even after the party finished the guests were noisy. So I was very tired in the morning. I think the hotel should have contacted guests and warned them of this and given them the chance to book else where. If it wasn't for this I would have been more than happy with this hotel.
everthing and would stay again
I like the country house atmosphere and had stayed there before, but the reception staff were not pleasant, which disappointed me as I thought the previous staff were lovely. This lot were very brusque.
The reception staff.
excelent location, room and food
The hotel is extremely convenient to Prestwick airport. It has a period atmosphere combining old world style with modern facilities.
very good location, adjacent to golf courses. We had a cottage room so the small lunge was very good to have. The staff were very friendly and efficient without being stuffy in any way. Very good atmosphere.
Right across the street from Troon Old Course. The courtyard was a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy the moment.
good quality cottage style rooms outwith main hotel. very attentive staff - we were attending a wedding - their 5th. on the trot and they were still doing it well! lovely grounds
No fridge in room 19 .Not so good at the price. Bedroom carpet was wet having been scrubbed clean, I think.
